Sunrise and Sunsets

The world is black. Everything. So black until I can see no shadow, no life, no light. Frantically, I pace quicker and quicker and scream out loud.

” Can anyone hear me? Anybody?!?”

        A bell jingles. The slightest ring echoes in the darkness.

” Who’s there? Where am I?”

       Silence greets me. But I can somehow hear the faint smile, a smile which I can’t seem to translate.

       A cold grip wraps around my arms and I try to free myself from it. But my body lay still, I cannot move! Struggling as hard as I can, my limbs did not respond at all. It is as if my body does not belong to me.

      I try to scream another time for help, but my mouth is frozen. Am I dead?

      No. My heart is still beating. My breath is still there. But it is so faint, so slight that I would have appeared to be sleeping. My mind screams out loud, a piercing scream of desperation. Can anyone safe me? Can anyone explain this to me?

      Slowly, sounds come flooding in. Murmurs, whispers which slowly evolve into loud booming sounds. A clashing sea of voices surround me but I cannot identify what they are saying.

”Stella! Stella! Stay strong!”

       ” Sam? Is that you?” I scream in my mind. What’s going on?

A blur sound of sirens fill the air as I feel myself hoisted upwards. I feel like I’m listening to a radio of bad transmission in the dark wilderness.

        The sound of the bell jingles again. I can feel the faint smile fading into a neutral emotion.

         And there was nothing.
